UK EX-PM EDWARD HEATH JOINED ECC 40 YEARS AGO

EDWARD HEATH

Prime Minister Edward Heath, Conservative,  took Britain into the European Economic Community in January 1973. It was the biggest sell out of a country. Common  Market or European Economic Community as it was called at that time was not meant to stay that way but grow into an all power mad European Union.

Looking back now it shows that Brussels was working all the time towards it. The public at that time was not aware of it that they will wake up one day to find themselves ruled by Brussels. Today Brussels is still pushing even harder towards a United Europe meaning that Britain will end up as a province.

Edward Heath treated the public with contempt. He was a very cold and aloof man. In his televised broadcast in January 1973 announcing the membership of Britain in the EEC he pointed out that some people fear Britain should loose its independence and sovereignty but assured the public that that would never happen.

According to the records Mr Heath knew that the EEC was just the beginning and would develop into a European State.  Already in 1970 when Heath applied to join the EEC the Foreign Office warned him that Brussels wanted it developed into a political union. This included all the national economic management would be handed over to federal authorities. Heath knew about it and was aware of it all the time. A minister for Europe in the Tory government in 1960 had been given this information.

As Heath knew it would happen during the last 40 years. Therefore Mr Heath was irresponsible to take the country into the EEC especially without telling the public the truth. Despite of Heath’s blatant lie it now shows the affect. Britain’s independent and sovereignty had been taken away slice after slice. The laws are now dictated by Brussels and British companies are swamped by EU rules.

EU controls already the borders and Britain has hardly any say in it. This resulted into the population and benefits increasing. To some extent it also has an impact on the economy.

Today the EU has already its own flag, anthem, currency, parliament, president, courts and diplomatic service.

At one time the European integration was glorified by the EU and will give the Continent more power which could grow into a superpower like the US or Far Eat or even better.  Today it looks like the opposite. Brussels bureaucracy brought the European countries into great debts and the euro zone became a symbol for disaster.

In spite of it all the Eurocrats demand further integration. High unemployment and spiral meltdown will not be considered as long as there will be a unity of Europe at the end.

The President of the European Community, who used to be a Maoist in Portugal, stated that Europe “needs to develop a fully-equipped community economic government because we cannot continue trying to solve European problems with national solutions,”

All this is nothing but controversial to the Tory’s belief and especially David Cameron that Britain can remain in the EU and at the same time bring back power from Brussels. This belief is nothing but a fantasy or yet another attempted brain washes the public. Already Herman Van Rompuy, President of the EU Council of Minister declared that Britain cannot cherry pick its power to look after its own interest. This clearly gives the message to either integrate into the federal state or keep its independence. At least Mr Van Rompuy is host about it.

Jaques Delors, a French socialist, also pointed out to Britain to either integrate or seek a free trade agreement. A free trade agreement would be certainly the correct way forward. It would not only save the sky-high contribution to the EU but controls the borders, have the law back again and really govern Britain.
The great threat being put out that Britain would not survive on its own comes most properly from people who benefit highly from Brussels. They forgot that Britain was once a great nation built an Empire, great industries and were always a trading nation and on its own.

It would be high time that national pride be established again by getting out of the EU. That goes not only for Britain but all the other EU countries.
